Interested in Just Taking a Class?

Virginia Tech created the non-degree program for individuals who want to take graduate level courses and not necessarily complete a degree. Most graduate degree programs allow individuals to take up to twelve credit hours (typically four classes) as a non-degree student.

For more information, contact the Center at (276) 619-4311 or (276) 619-4310.

Current course offerings can be found on the University Registar website:

Select "Western" as the campus and then select the "term" you are interested in taking a course. Fall semester begins in late August and runs through early December. Spring semester begins in January and runs through the beginning of May. The University also has a number of summer opportunities, which run May through August.
